How your dashboards are built and refreshed

Learn how Intellova brings your business data together into dashboards and how often that data is kept up to date.

Where your dashboard data comes from

Your dashboards are built on top of the data Intellova collects from the tools you already use — things like your CRM, accounting software, rostering system, and support desk. As part of your managed setup, the Intellova team connects these sources for you, so you don't need to configure integrations or move data around yourself.

Once connected, all of that information is brought together into a single dedicated database hosted on AWS in Australia. This means your data stays in one consistent, secure place, and your dashboards can combine figures from different systems — for example, matching sales from your CRM against costs from your accounting tool — without you having to reconcile spreadsheets by hand.

How your dashboards are built

Your dashboards themselves are created in Amazon Quick Suite, which reads directly from your Intellova database. The charts, tables, and summaries you see are simply different views of that unified data, designed around the questions your business cares about most.

If you'd like a new dashboard, an extra metric, or a change to how something is calculated, the best approach is to contact the Intellova team rather than trying to rebuild things yourself. Because the underlying data and reports are managed for you, we can make sure any new view is accurate and uses the right source data.

How and when your data refreshes

Intellova regularly pulls fresh data from your connected sources and updates your database on a scheduled basis, so your dashboards reflect recent activity rather than a one-off snapshot. The exact refresh timing depends on how your sources are set up, so if you're unsure how current a particular figure is, just ask us and we'll confirm the schedule for your account.

Occasionally a refresh from a source can fail — for example, if a tool's login expires or a connection drops. When this happens, Intellova will still send you an email notification so you're aware. If you receive one, you don't usually need to fix anything technical yourself: reply to the notification or contact Intellova support, and we'll investigate the connection and get your data flowing again.
